I’m Steve and I helped build Equalist. Equalist makes you and your friends a playlist based on each of your Spotify histories such that each member’s top tracks are equally present on the playlist making the playlist into an “equalist”. With an equalist, you don’t have to argue about who gets the aux during house parties and road trips because virtually everybody gets the aux. And for the cherry on top, you can make an equalist in a matter of seconds.

I first faced this problem when I was on a road trip with my friends and then decided to launch the first version of equalist during a 24-hour hackathon with Bharath but we weren’t quite satisfied with the product so we decided to go back to the drawing board and do a ground-up rebuild of the app. For this version, we spent a lot more time designing the UI/UX experience and planning on how to source the tracks for maximum enjoyability. Equalist marks our first launch on PH and we hope you find our product useful. We also would love to hear your feedback on the product and I’m happy to answer questions.
